Company Description:
B&R announced to open ETHERNET Powerlink for third-party use at HMI (HANNOVER MESSE Industrie) in April 2002. Led by B&R, Hirschmann and Lenze, manufacturers of automation products, and Kuka Roboter as an end-user of such products, have founded the EPSG to develop a real-time communication standard based on the "ETHERNET Powerlink". The Zurich University of applied sciences (ZHW) ensures the co-ordination of further development and acts as neutral contact and service organization for ETHERNET Powerlink implementation at third party vendors.
Today the EPSG is open for anybody interested in real-time data communication via standard Ethernet, i.e. vendors, research institutes, end-users, students etc.
