The ISA bus of the past established by the IEEE P996 specification is fully supported today by PC/104 Technology almost a decade after it was established. When demand for a PCI bus emerged, PC/104-Plus technology was added in February of 1997 by the PC/104 Consortium as an addition to the technology... not a replacement of any existing technology. This event underscored the fact that the PC/104 Consortium will continue to support any technology of the past while developing new solutions to demands for improved performance in the future.
