![]() ArtemisiaCompany Description:ARTEMISIA is the next step towards the implementation of the Strategic Research Agenda of ARTEMIS (the European Technology Platform for Advanced Research and Technology for Embedded Intelligence and Systems - launched in mid-2004).ARTEMISIA stands for ARTEMIS Industrial Association and was established on January 17, 2007. ARTEMISIA will feature a novel co-financing mechanism for collaborative trans-national R&D projects that combines the best elements of Eureka’s ITEA2 and MEDEA+ clusters and those of the Framework Programme, leverages private and national investments and aligns Europe’s fragmented R&D efforts around a common, pan-European SRA. End of 2007, the European Commission will submit a proposal for a Council Regulation on setting up the Joint Undertaking. With the approval from the Council of the European Union expected in the course of 2008, the first Call for Proposals is foreseen by the beginning of 2008. On the basis of the Articles of Association (AoA) and the ARTEMISIA Supplementary Agreement (ASA) as agreed between Philips Electronics Nederland B.V., STMicroelectronics N.V., Thales S.A., Nokia Corporation and DaimlerChrysler AG, acting as the five Founding Fathers of ARTEMISIA, ARTEMISIA, the Industrial association has been established under Dutch law. While continuing the current activities of the Technology Platform, ARTEMISIA will rally European R&D actors to collectively represent them in the future Joint Undertaking on embedded systems that will be set up as a public-private partnership with the European Commission, Member States and Associated States to implement key parts of the SRA. Membership of ARTEMISIA brings voting rights for elections and key decisions in ARTEMISIA, permits involvement in shaping the future evolution of the SRA and other policies, and provides an extensive and respected network of potential R&D partners. < As stated by the Articles of Association (AoA), Membership is equally open to SMEs (Members A), Public Research Organisation (Members B) and Corporate members (Members C). Individuals who are active in the field of embedded systems or legal persons that maintain an organisation of enterprises and/or Public Research Organisations that are active in the field of embedded systems can apply for a position of Associate.
