Description:

MicroTCA (Micro Telecommunications Computing Architecture) is a standard, open architecture specification for low-cost, small form-factor chassis utilizing hot-swappable AdvancedMC mezzanine cards. Developed by the PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group (PICMG),MicroTCA targets low power high availability and performance applications with tight cost and size constraints. Emerson´s MicroTCA EMC Series Platform provides multiple deployment options for customers. It offers two chassis configurations and simplex or redundant backplane fabric types for maximum flexibility.
The EMC4000 range of platforms are 4U, 19in wide x 10.65in deep (482.6 x 270.4mm), rackmount chassis that supports up to twelve Single, Compact, mid size or Full, AdvancedMC modules, enabling AMC´s used for ATCA to be re-used in the Emerson MicroTCA chassis. The EMC7000 platform range are 7U, 19in wide x 10.65in deep (482.6 x 270.4mm), rack-mount chassis that supports up to twelve Single or Double, Compact, Mid or Full size, AdvancedMC modules, making it an ideal platform for applications that require a mixture of Single and Double modules.
The EMC Series Platform includes MicroTCA Carrier Hub (MCH) functionality, with each MCH supporting up to twelve AdvancedMC modules, a cooling unit, and a 600W48V AC or DC power management module. Clock and Fat Pipe features also can be included, as well as Emerson´s intuitive SpiderWareM3 software, which provides monitoring and control functions for the platform.
Emerson offers a variety of system-tested payload blades for the MicroTCA EMC Series Platform to accelerate application development. These include processing blades, such as Emerson's KosaiPM, KSI8641 and KSI8650, modules, and other peripherals, such as the KSI1000 Ethernet Test Module and Emerson SATA or SAS AdvancedMC storage modules.
