Technology marketing specialists, Energi have announced that they will be organising and promoting 'Embedded Masterclass 2009', an event that introduces leading edge technology to engineers working in the development of hi-tech systems. This event will take place in Cambridge and Bristol on the 7th and 12th May 2009. http://www.embedded-masterclass.com

Now in its 10th year, the Embedded Masterclass attracts many of the world leading vendors in the field of development tools, software and hardware products for the development of microprocessor based systems. The UK is recognised as a world leader in this field with companies such as Ericsson, Nokia, Sharp, Sony and Philips each having research and development facilities within the UK. In addition to this, Cambridge and the M4 corridor are both areas recognised for being important areas of hi-tech development.

"Last year's event was a great success," said Richard Blackburn, Managing Director of Energi. "We introduced some new technology workshops and decided to run the event in two locations, both of these improvement seemed to have been valued by both the vendors and the delegates. This year will be similar event but with a range of new technologies and issues being discussed and presented. Despite the current economic worries, we seem to have no shortage of companies wanting to participate again this year and we have already taken registrations for the conference and for both of the workshops."

The term 'embedded' comes from the fact that so many modern devices have computers embedded within them, the average mobile phone often has a network of three powerful microchips communicating at extreme speeds. The embedded computing industry is a massive global industry that influences most aspects of modern life, from flat panel TV's to low emission car engine management systems and from washing machine controls to air traffic control systems. The exhibition will be in the format of a tabletop show.

"The tabletop format for the exhibition has been good for us," said Richard. "This means that there is more focus on the technology and less on the sales/marketing. It makes for a better environment for engineers to learn about the technology, it simply makes it a lot more friendly and less competitive. As the event has grown, it's been easier to attract the more important world class players. With people like MontaVista and Enea on board, we feel sure engineers will want to come along and learn about their new offerings."

The Embedded Masterclass is free to engineers and technology managers. Attendance is limited, so early registration is recommended. The Embedded Linux workshop and GUI builder workshops are at a special price of £95 and again places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
