C&H is making available as a part of its standard EM405-8 LXI Intelligent Carrier (Bridge) the Lua Scripting Language and Utilities. The addition of this capability will now allow embedded applications to be easily developed for and run on the EM405-8. This in turn will (a) facilitate stand along test, control and monitoring routines that run on the EM405-8 with no host intervention except to report results or error exceptions, (b) provide for embedding of C drivers for both C&H and Acquisition Technology M Modules directly on the EM405-8 and (c) provide overall systems performance improvements by reducing the required traffic on the Ethernet bus to any host. Additional development capabilities, management commands and extensions have been added to Lua to provide easy to use development and run-time environments.

C&H Technologies, a registered VXI manufacturer, provides a line of LXI, VXI, VME, PCI, cPCI, PXI, Ethernet carriers for M/MA modules both in Intelligent and Non-intelligent forms. The company also provides over 30 M/MA Modules specifically designed for test and data acquisition applications.
