Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing has announced that it will support the new industrial temperature range version of the Intel® Atom™ processor Z5xx series on its recently introduced rugged low power, high performance, small factor VPX3-1100 ATOMIC board family. The Atom processor Z5xx series features advanced power management techniques such as new C6 state (Deep Power Down Technology) Enhanced Intel SpeedStep® technology, CMOS mode and Split IO power supply support. These low power features make the Intel Atom processor Z5xx series ideal for space, weight and power (SWaP) constrained and fanless embedded applications such as the secure rugged deployed aerospace and defense applications for which the VPX3-1100 ATOMIC was designed.
