QuickLogic Names Art Whipple Vice President
of Business Development
Whipple to drive development of compelling system solutions that leverage QuickLogic's secure Embedded Standard Products

Sunnyvale, CA, October 22, 2003 * * * QuickLogic Corporation (Nasdaq: QUIK), the leader in Embedded Standard Products (ESPs), announced that Arthur O. Whipple has been named Vice President of Business Development. The new position was designed to establish partnerships with companies offering complementary technology that, when coupled with QuickLogic's ESP products, offers compelling system solutions for markets that QuickLogic already serves. Mr. Whipple will also focus on identifying new products and sales channel strategies with the goal of positioning QuickLogic into emerging, high volume segments.
"The marked rise in ASIC costs, the heightened awareness of the need to protect intellectual property, and the time to market pressures facing the system designer, clearly present a huge opportunity for QuickLogic's family of highly secure, programmable products," said Tom Hart, Chairman, CEO and President of QuickLogic. "Art will play a pivotal role in identifying the programs that QuickLogic should deploy to maximize our value to our customers."
Whipple joined QuickLogic in 1998 as its CFO and was most recently the Vice President and General Manager of Logic Products. Brian Faith, a seven-year veteran of QuickLogic, has been promoted to Director of Marketing, Logic Products, to take on Whipple's former function. "The Vialink® technology, that underlies all of QuickLogic's products, has enabled QuickLogic to release the Eclipse-II family of programmable devices that provide product leadership in the FPGA segment in terms of standby and dynamic current draw, " continued Hart. "Brian's immediate focus will be to increase QuickLogic's share of the FPGA business in power-sensitive applications in portable medical, PDA, and consumer markets."
Mr. Whipple's other semiconductor experience includes finance and engineering positions with Monolithic Memories Inc., Fairchild Camera & Instrument, and Westinghouse Electric Corporation. He holds a B.S.E.E. from the University of Washington and M.B.A. from Santa Clara University.
Mr. Faith has held several positions in engineering, sales, applications and marketing at QuickLogic. He holds a B.S.C.E., has completed post-graduate work in engineering management, and has also served as an adjunct lecturer at Santa Clara University.
