Summary: Concurrent Technologies enhances their range of single slot, high performance, low power, CompactPCI® based single board computers (SBC) utilizing the Intel® Pentium® M processor. The PP 300/02x supports the 1.6 GHz processor (1 Mbyte L2 cache) and the PP 302/02x supports either the 1.8 GHz or 1.4 GHz processor (2 Mbytes L2 cache). Using the Intel® 855GME GMCH, the processor can access up to 2 Gbytes of 333 MHz DDR ECC SDRAM. The PP 30x/02x can operate as a system/peripheral slot controller or as a satellite board (blade), all with hot-swap capability.

Utilizing the Intel® 6300ESB ICH, this SBC´s I/O capability includes Ultra-160 SCSI, dual EIDE ATA100 and dual Serial ATA150 interfaces, a 66MHz PMC site, four Gigabit Ethernet channels, PICMG® 2.16 and PICMG 2.9 (IPMI). Applications include telecoms, telemetry, defense, security, industrial-control, scientific, and aerospace markets. For harsher applications, using the 1.4 GHz processor, operation over -40°C to +85°C and over -25°C to +70°C is supported.
“As a single slot CompactPCI SBC, the PP 30x/02x family is ideally suited to data control or server intensive applications by including four Gigabit Ethernet interfaces and on-board high performance hard disk interfaces that includes Ultra-160 SCSI and Serial ATA150.” said Jane Annear, Commercial Director for Concurrent Technologies, “And our choice of a low power chipset, along with on-board soldered memory, allows us to offer extended temperature variants of boards for defense and industrial applications.”
To cater for a range of applications, using the EIDE ATA100 interface, there are options to install an on-board EIDE 2.5-inch disk drive or CompactFlash™/Hitachi GST Microdrive™ carrier, while maintaining a single slot. For embedded applications that require the PMC site the board supports an onboard CompactFlash socket as standard. A minimum of 512Mbytes of 333MHz DDR SDRAM is soldered to the board. For faster CompactPCI control/data plane throughput the PP 30x/02x can operate at 66MHz backplane PCI signaling speeds.
A 2048 x 1536 graphics interface, including DVI-D support, is implemented using the Intel® 855GME GMCH. Other features provided are keyboard and mouse interface, floppy disk interface, 2 RS232 serial channels, 3 USB 2.0 ports, PC real-time clock, watchdog timer and legacy speaker interface. IPMI supports IPMB0 and IPMB1. For applications requiring rear I/O connections, a transition module is available.
The PP 300/02x and PP 302/02x support many of today´s leading operating systems, including VxWorks®, Linux®, Windows® 2000, Windows NT®, Windows® XP Embedded, Solaris™, LynxOS® and QNX®.
