Embedded Research Solutions (ERS) creates products and the enabling technologies for pervasive computing applications. The US National Institutes of Standards and Technology (NIST) defines pervasive computing as, the strongly emerging trend toward numerous, casually accessible, often invisible computing devices, frequently mobile or embedded in the environment, and connected to an increasingly ubiquitous network structure. Simply put intelligent, connected devices that are everywhere. In the US, academic research in this area is quite strong, supported primarily by the government. This research has not yielded deployable technology ERS has.
