![]() PeritekCompany Description:Peritek is now part of Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing (CWCEC). Peritek, along with Dy4 and Primagraphics comprise the Real Time Video and Graphics (RTVG) group. RTVG is the leading supplier of video and graphics display control boards for the embedded computing industry. We offer the broadest range of solutions for standard hardware platforms and operating systems. Our high performance graphics controllers include PMC, PCI, CompactPCI and VME solutions. Our operating system support is also unmatched in the industry, and includes Solaris, Linux, Windows and leading real-time operating systems including VxWorks and LynxOS. Using in-house technology and software, RTVG products continue to deliver reliable COTS high performance graphics in a multitude of applications deployed in the aviation, defense, medical and industrial environments. History Founded in 1976, Peritek originally built graphics and other peripheral cards for DEC Q-Bus, Unibus, and finally TurboChannel computers. Peritek moved on to the VMEbus in the late 1980s. As the PCI bus gained popularity, first in the PC market and then in the commercial arena, growing customer demand for PCI based products led Peritek to introduce its first PMC module in 1998. This has been followed by a series of unique PMC, CompactPCI, and PCI solutions for common embedded display applications Recent Business Activities Over the past five years, as the board level graphics business has stabilized, the number of companies remaining active in the market has steadily decreased. This consolidation has occurred in both the consumer PC market, where the majority of the business remains, and in the much smaller commercial and industrial markets, into which Peritek has traditionally sold. In response to that trend, Peritek has made two strategic acquisitions in last couple of years. In June of 2000, Peritek acquired the assets of Megatek Graphics, based in San Diego, CA. Megatek has achieved substantial success in the embedded Sun Solaris-based marketplace. The acquisition of Megatek broadened Peritek's sales reach and provided the company with an experienced software, support and sales staff. In September of 2001, Peritek acquired the assets of Raster Graphics (RGI) of Redmond, Oregon. RGI provides VMEbus and PMC graphics and video capture boards for the embedded market, with VxWorks as their primary environment. RGI's graphics package, called SDL, has been very well received by the embedded marketplace and has been adapted to Peritek graphics boards. The acquisition of RGI further broadened Peritek's sales reach and provided the company with an experienced technical and support staff. These acquisitions have solidified Peritek's position as the leading graphics technology vendor for embedded hardware platforms and operating systems. In August, 2003, Peritek was acquired by Curtiss-Wright. It is operated as a business unit of VISTA Controls, a leading manufacturer of mission critical systems for military and severe environment applications. All volume manufacturing is performed for Peritek by a leading ISO 9001/IPC qualified contract manufacturer in San Jose, CA, that provides true turnkey service. They manufacture the PC boards, purchase all the parts, build and test the boards, and deliver directly to some local customers. All other product is shipped from Redmond. This results in better time utilization, superior quality, and improved shipping times. Our negotiated annual supply contract delivers stable pricing while remaining flexible enough to adjust for fluctuation in our quarterly requirement schedule. Peritek Technology Assets With the volatility of the semiconductor marketplace, long-term availability of graphics chips is virtually impossible, especially for low- and mid-range products. To combat this problem, in August 2000, Worldwide Headquarters:
