Accent is a joint venture between STMicroelectronics (51%) - a global leader in the design and manufacture of semiconductors - and Cadence Design System (49%) - a world leader in software and services for electronic design.

Founded in 1993 by a group of five engineers, the company has developed into an important full service design factory. It is one of the leading design houses in the world, ranked 6th in Europe by market research firm Future Horizons, and today can boast a wide range of expertise in many different market sectors: from telecommunications to multimedia, from automotive to biomedical, from home automation to industrial controls and many others.
This means Accent has handled over 20 full system designs (from architecture to design) and more than 250 ASIC tape-outs from RTL/netlist to factory hand-off in 10 years of operation (with 98% first time working silicon).
Accent also masters the complete system, including FPGA, boards, software and interface to manufacturing.
All this is achieved by Accent's structure, which includes more than 120 highly skilled and qualified electronic engineers, 95% with degrees or doctorates.

Accent is based in Europe, with offices and design facilities in Italy - Milan, Genoa and Catania - and in France (Sophia Antipolis) and representatives in UK, Germany, France, Israel and US.
Accent has a strategic alliance program and has developed important partnerships in each of the following sectors: electronic product engineering, IC Bring up, IC Test & Manufacturing, IP providers, Silicon technology providers, FPGA, EDA tools providers.
