 GX2 ETX ModuleCompany Description:The first ETX module product from Datasound Laboratories Ltd. (DSL) is based on a low-power 400MHz AMD Geode GX533 (GX2) processor. The module includes four USB ports, an AC'97 Audio Codec, two serial ports, IDE interface, keyboard and mouse ports.The processor, which carries AMD promise of 5-year availability, consumes just 1.1W at 400MHz while providing performance equivalent to a VIA Eden 533MHz CPU. No cooling fans or cumbersome heat sinks are required, over the full operating temperature range. The ETX concept is an off-the-shelf, multi-vendor, "system on module" (SOM) form-factor that integrates all the core components such as CPU, memory, and associated chipsets. ETX modules are mounted on application-specific baseboards. The baseboard design can incorporate whatever I/O connectors and other functions the application demands, thus providing the optimum embedded arrangement by saving costs on unwanted headers, sockets, and cables, while achieving a form-factor that precisely matches the application.
