EKF was founded in 1972. In the mid 70's, the company was developing standardized microcomputer components and accessory software as a replacement for conventional process control technology. As an independent systems manufacturer, EKF concentrated, from the very beginning, on complete solutions for industrial problems by using the latest in technology.
In the beginning of the 80's the company expanded, thanks mainly to its innovative products based on EUROBUS, at this time the leading bus standard for Motorola CPUs.
