Description:

Realogy Real-Time Architect (RTA) is a real-time design environment and RTOS that provides embedded software engineers with the tools for designing, developing, analyzing and deploying deeply embedded, preemptive real-time systems based around the OSEK/VDX operating system and related standards. All this is achieved while: • Reducing unit costs; • Guaranteeing product quality; and • Reducing time-to-market. Contained within the RTA package are the following components: • SSX5, a real-time operating system (RTOS) certified to fully support the latest version (v2.2) of the OSEK/VDX OS standard. It has been designed specifically for the demands of high-volume applications. Key design objectives for SSX5 were: complete timing predictability, very low memory footprint, minimal execution time overheads, scalability in resource usage and ultra-high reliability.
• RTArchitect, a graphical user interface that provides the engineer with the ability to specify the architecture of real-time systems. It reads, writes and creates OIL files, while also providing access to other tools in the RTA suite. It is also responsible for generating code and data relating to the objects defined in the OIL file. Because these files are based on the exact configuration of the application, this permits considerable optimization of the final application, through the use of generated data and an optimized static API. Also generated are ORTI files to support run-time access of RTOS data, via an ORTI-aware debugger. RTArchitect can be driven directly from the command line (to support easy integration into an existing build process) or from the GUI. • The Time Compiler tool uses the timing model built into the OIL file to analyze the timing behavior of the application. This analysis can be used from the initial architecture through refinement of design to final implementation. Use of timing estimates in the early stages allows the Time Compiler to verify feasibility and guide implementation
