Dedicated Systems - more than a new buzz word
It is now more than a half year that we relaunched the magazine with the new name: Dedicated Systems Magazine. The purpose of the new name was not to be trendier. Of course we are, I observed that the word "dedicated systems" is already used by a lot of people. It helps indeed in the cases where "real-time systems" or "embedded systems" are not satisfying descriptions.
The new name is also hiding new services. Through the magazine and the website you know us probably as a publishing house. However, behind the scenes, there is much more, and with the namechange we want to tell you about. The magazine and especially the evaluation programs we started are only possible if we have "the experts" in this field.
Dedicated Systems Experts, the company behind all this is specialized in helping you around in setting up new projects. Our services range from looking for business partners, making market studies, up to very high level technical skills helping you in making the right technology choices. We call it verifying and validating the business process, the project management, the architectural design and the quality of the final product. Knowing the hardware technology in detail, we focus most on the software issues and development strategies.
As you have been observing, this new way of seeing things has been reflected in a new website. Indeed, in order to be capable of doing what is described above, we need of course to study on a continues basis the market and the technology, and via the magazine and the website we want to share the collected information with you. But this is not enough, you cannot claim to know how to develop quality products and services if you don't experience it yourself. We are therefore, everyday, actively involved in real projects with real quality results.
Ending up with a quality product (which means a lot of things) is certainly not "just programming" or just "good programming". We experienced that programming is maximum 10 to 20 % of the job. One might expect to lower these values even more once automatic code generations techniques are common practice or more and more "libraries" become available.
What will most be observed by you as a reader and especially as websitevisitor is the growing size of our "buyers guides". It is our purpose to keep you informed about all the players and their products in the dedicated systems field.
