BVM has added the LV-67D to its extensive family of mini-ITX form factor motherboards for embedded applications. The LV-67D uses the Intel 945GSE chipset and incorporates the 45nm Intel Atom N270 processor. The chip´s power consumption is particularly low at 2.5W, and with extensive I/O capability, the board is ideal for embedded applications such as digital signage, kiosks, point of sale terminals, thin clients, digital security, residential gateways and commercial and industrial control equipment where ultimate computing power is less important than power conservation. The onboard Intel GMA 950 32-bit 3D graphics engine offers LVDS, DVI, CRT or HDTV capability and multiple graphics displays.

The N270 runs at 1.6GHz with a 533MHz FSB addressing up to 2GB of RAM. The LV-67D ...

The IntelŽ AtomT processor is based on an entirely new design, built for low power and designed specifically for a new wave of Mobile Internet Devices and simple, low-cost PC's. Newly designed from the ground up, 45nm IntelŽ AtomT processors pack an astounding 47 million transistors on a single chip measuring less than 26mm˛, making them Intel's smallest and lowest power processors.

"This is exciting stuff," said Richard Blackburn, the organiser of the Embedded Masterclass. "This is the kind of product engineers want to l...

The LBX from Verotec is an elegant solution for users who need to mount standard Eurocard sized PCBs and modules in a desktop enclosure. Fabricated in steel, the LBX is sized to accept 3U and 6U boards in both 160 and 220mm board depths and can accommodate standard front panels in the popular 4, 6, 12 and 24HP widths.

The primary benefit to the user is that the same pluggable PCB or module can be mounted in either a standard subrack for 19" rack mounting use or in the LBX for desktop applications, enabling systems to be configured to suit many different applications. The largest 24HP version will accept a maximum of eight mounted horizontally individual boards. Connector carriers allow interconnection between individual boards to be made by either using standard DIN41612 conne...
