Pentek, Inc. Pentek’s RTS 2703 Signal Recording Instrument Synchronizes Two 16-Bit Channels at 200 MSPS *Complete recorder and PC-based workstation in 4U, 19-inch unit *Extendable synchronization connects multiple units for additional channels *Provi... Pentek, Inc., today announced its Model RTS 2703 Real-Time Recording Instrument, which packs up to 4 Terabytes of removable RAID storage and dual 200 MHz, 16-bit sampling channels into a 4U rack-mount instrument. Both sampling channels use the same start, stop, triggering and clock timing to ensure that the two data sets are fully synchronized. In addition to the data acquisition and recording functions, the instrument forms a complete high-performance Windows XP workstation that can run under standalone operation as well as connect to a gigabit Ethernet network for remote access and control. “This instrument is the first to offer two A/Ds with 16-bit resolution and a 200 MHz sampling rate. It’s ideal for radar, communications and storage applications that need high-speed synchronized ... |

AdaCore AdaCore Announces Hi-Lite Project New consortium aims to promote formal methods for high integrity software... PARIS and NEW YORK, May 4, 2010 – AdaCore, together with Altran Praxis, CEA LIST, Astrium Space Transportation, INRIA ProVal and Thales Communications today announced the start of the Hi-Lite project. Financially supported by French national and local government agencies, Hi-Lite is an Open Source project designed to increase the use of formal methods in developing high integrity software, particularly to meet the forthcoming DO-178C avionics standard. It will achieve this by building tools that are simpler, more powerful and easier to use. Hi-Lite will bring together the strengths of the project partners to create formal verification tools for both the Ada and C languages. These will enable code verification at a deeper level than current solutions and reduce the need for time-consum... |

The UK Embedded Masterclass Embedded Engineers Explore Linux At UK Embedded Masterclass For the third year running, the UK Embedded Masterclass will be running a half-day workshop that offers an "Introduction to Embedded Linux". www.embe... The UK Embedded Masterclass has become a key event for engineers that develop hi-tech products and work with microprocessor based systems. This annual event enables technology vendors to share their latest technology and tools with European engineers from a wide range of industries. The use of the Linux operating system within hi-tech systems has become a hot-topic for engineers and this workshop promises to explain how best to implement Linux as well as the advantages and limitations. "It's been a very popular workshop," said Richard Blackburn, the organiser. "We've decided to run it a third time simply because we ran out of space during previous events and we know there are some engineers who are still keen to attend. The feedback on this course has been excellent. Some engineers wal... |

Blunk Microsystems LLC Blunk announces out-of-the-box support for Micron’s Serial NAND Blunk Microsystems announces out-of-the-box support for Micron’s Serial NAND... Blunk Microsystems, a leading embedded software provider, announces support for Micron’s Serial NAND, which provides on-chip ECC, large capacity, and a simple SPI interface. Blunk uses the INTERNAL DATA MOVE command for higher performance and includes verified drivers with its flash-centric file system TargetFFS and its flash translation layer TargetFTL-NDM. Both solutions are high performance, power-fail safe, and include API extensions for embedded systems programming. The former provides a UNIX-like API. The latter allows PC file sharing via USB and forms a complete file system when used with Blunk’s PC-compatible TargetFAT. Blunk file systems are proven by world-wide use in cell phones, set-top boxes, satellites, and other demanding applications. About Blunk Microsystems Blun... |
