AVIX-RT is proud to announce the latest version 2.2 of its RTOS AVIX to be available for the MIPS based Microchip PIC32 microcontroller. This new product (AVIX32) is fully compatible with its 16-bit counterpart (AVIX16) and complements the AVIX-RT product portfolio such that AVIX can be used now with all Microchip 16-bit and 32-bit microcontrollers. The unique features offered by AVIX16 are present also in AVIX32. Especially worth mentioning is the unique system stack implementation to be used by interrupt handlers. Compared with competing products the AVIX32 system stack implementation can save you up to 11K of RAM. On a PIC32 offering 32K RAM this is over 33% of the total amount of RAM competing products need for interrupt handling which, using AVIX32, is available to be used by the appl...

AVIX-RT embedded systems

AVIX-RT Releases version 2.2 of its RTOS AVIX

Based on its successfull predecessor version 2.01, AVIX-RT is proud to announce version 2.2 of its RTOS targeting Microchip 24F, 24H and dsPIC microcontrollers....

In its latest version 2.2, the functionality of AVIX is extended to a level making it even more usable than its predecessor. Added to the functionality is a unique time-out mechanism allowing error checking on potential blocking function calls. Based on the user friendly and type safe API offered already in previous versions, the new version is extended with time-out functionality fully retaining the API properties mentioned above.

Furthermore a number of performance enhancing optimizations have been implemented making the new version even faster than the already very fast previous version. Benchmarked against a number of other products using the open source performance test ThreadMetric, AVIX is performance winner on four out of seven tests contained in this test suite.
